Southern California Youth Bull Riders (SCYBR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer-based YOUTH Bull Riding Association dedicated to keeping the sport of bull riding alive and growing in Southern California.

 

Founded in 2018, by Junior and Jackie Saenz, SCYBR was created to give young riders fair opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence, compete, and become part of a supportive rough stock rodeo community. Our goal is to invest in the riders of today while helping ensure a strong future for the sport of bull riding.

Our association is built on integrity, honesty, sportsmanship, and dedication. We encourage our contestants to support one another, celebrate each other’s accomplishments, and build friendships that extend far beyond the arena.

​

Throughout the season, SCYBR provides competitive opportunities for youth riders across multiple roughstock divisions. Each qualifying event gives riders the opportunity to earn their way to the Wrangler Youth Bull Riders World Finals in Abilene, Texas, with the Top 3 riders in each eligible division qualifying for the World Finals.

​

SCYBR riders also have opportunities to participate in select PRCA and IPRA rodeo events, providing additional experience and exposure as they progress in the sport.

​

As a nonprofit organization, SCYBR is supported through membership dues, sponsorships, donations, raffles, and event-generated funds. These funds are reinvested directly into the association and help provide event champion buckles, year-end awards, and continued operation expenses related to hosting events.

SCYBR is proudly operated by volunteers, and no assets or earnings are distributed for the personal benefit of its directors or members.
